They don't look to be the strongest design to me, the main support of the control arm wraps around the spring pocket and back to the bushings on either side but leaves the ball joint area pretty unstructured.

Those are designed for circle track cars and I know some guys with chevelle front clips who have used those lower control arms. They are stronger than the OEM control arms and take a beating that you don't get on a street car.

They look stronger than the crappy OEM stamping to me. The tubular structure around the periphery and spring perch adds a lot of rigidity. I dare bet they are lighter and stronger than the factory piece.

They very well could be, however everyone seems to question the factory lower arms and say that aftermarket are lighter and better and in truth with a good set of bushings the factory ones are in most cases lighter and just as strong. Going back to the statement on dirt track cars pure stocks run stock arms and while they will bend in a wreck there are less failures from abuse then you would think and those are extreme conditions out on the track so it does make me question the value of aftermarket arms. Having said that I have use UMI arms before and can say they are more rigid for sure but is it worth the cost when plating the factory arms is so easy?

Nope it is not worth the cost even though I have them on my Malibu.

That why when I seen these for 177 buxx I was excited.

Hopefully the Monte will get these!!
