I'm trying to finish up my '86 Cutlass and after the LS swap I decided to install the UMI 1" lowering springs front and rear. Since I have the truck oil pan I didn't want to go too low.
I installed the springs yesterday and the front is about 4" higher than it was. The front is also higher than the back.

Called Summit to double check I got the correct parts and I did. Tried to call UMI and got a voicemail. Not sure what to do now. Anyone else have a similar issue, not sure what to do.

Sounds like the parts UMI gave you may not be correct? My 6.2L all aluminum LS engine is about 130 lbs. lighter than the Oldsmobile 403 it replaced. As a result the front end is about .5" higher than factory height. I installed MOOG springs but will be changing to adjustable coil overs with new lower control arms.

Same problem here.

I bought the 2 inch lowering springs and the front sits lower but still way to high compared to the rear

I was hoping they would settle, but no luck so far

in my Cutlass

I've never had that experience, but e-mail customer service. I don't know what good it will do now, but you may want to remove the springs and measure them (take a picture of the measurement) to include in the e-mail to customer service.

Your old springs were worn and had settled a lot.... A very common issue that many don't realize they have until they install lowering springs. Also your new engine weighs less than an iron block and head sbc... This is the exact reason I went to coilovers. I got sick and tired of chasing ride height all over. Now it's a ten minute job to change my height

I left a message at UMI and got a quick return call from Duane., who was really helpful. I’m going to double check the top of the springs are seated properly first. If they are, he’s going to ship me a new set of 2”lowering springs and have me send these back.

I was able to take a pic showing I have the springs installed correctly. I will talk to Duane again tomorrow to see what he thinks.
