Has anyone used an aftermarket rally wheel on their Malibu? I'm seeing that they're saying the wheels are not hub centric. But I didn't think a factory gm one was either on a 10 bolt due to the axle center being smaller. I can't say I've ever worried about putting aftermarket wheels on a Malibu. I used tapered seat or the shank style nuts depending on the wheel and put them on. Do you use a hub centric spacer ring to make the swap? Thanks

I had 2 factory ones and 2 aftermarket ones from Summit on my 83 Monte and then on my 82 Regal. No issues here. I ran them for about 6 years with BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires.

With Rally wheels, backspacing is usually more of an issue than whether or not they are hubcentric. A-Body and F-body Rally wheels can have too much backspacing if they are 8" and might need wheel adapters.

I’m kind of finding it doesn’t matter. I just checked my weld draglites on the chevelle, because I had dragstars on my 78 to see what size they were. They are over 3” so they were not hubcentric either and I had no rings or spacers with them. I’m thinking an aftermarket rally with good tapered seat nuts will be fine. I’m thinking I had 15x8 with 4.5 bs on the 78 so I’m going 4.5 for an aftermarket rally too.

I run 2 factory corvette rally rims on the rear and 2 aftermarket on the front. Never had an issue and they have been on there for years.

I also ran some aftermarket 15 x 8 Corvette rally wheels with Hoosier slicks that I bought from Summit and never had an issue.

I have aftermarket 8" rally's on the Monte. 4" backspace, 235/60/15's front and rear. Under hard cornering there was some occasional scuffing of the tie rod against the raised white letters of the tire, the tires are Cooper Cobras mounted blackwall out.

Yes 15X8's in front are tricky. Greater BS that keeps the tire off the fender lip, rubs the tie rods, ball joints or upper control arms. 15X7's or 16" or larger work best in a Gbody up front.

If they arent hub centric they are lug centric, like circle track wheels. So balancing them 100% is very hard. just use those ceramic balance beads. Should be fine
