Vented gas cap, when to use one?

Electric in tank pump using factory vent line as a return.

Use a vented cap?

I would think yes.......but doesn't hurt to ask.......

Use a 3rd Gen F-body tank vent tapped into the filler neck, it will only open from time to time; thus minimizing the stink.

So you have no other vent besides the one you tapped into the neck.

Stink doesn't bother me, only the guys losing has to smell it.

Thanks I just realized the tank has 3 lines coming out of the sending unit.

Fuel, Return and Vent

So i should be good since the tank is vented.

Every G-body (any GM for that matter) sending unit has a vent line unless you repurpose it; and if you do then you add a pressure vent.

Yes I was so focused on using the vent as a return it completely slipped my mind.

All I kept hearing and seeing in my head was RETURN RETURN completely overlooked the vent line.
