I'm having trouble reading the Vin# on my 87 Monte Carlo not sure if I'm seeing it correctly looks like a bunch of one's plus I think it says 1980! And Google will not explain it, thnx!😬

Also if still present under the trunk lid you should find the SPID which will have the VIN as well as the tags in the drivers side door.
This is as long as the parts are original to the car.

I don't have a picture I just need to know the correct amount of numbers
17 is the lucky number for VIN characters on an 87.
Looking at the other decals may help make sense of what could be on the VIN plate.

A typical 87 Monte SS would look something like this:

1G1GZ11G?HP??????

First question mark is a check sum digit, and the last 6 question marks are the sequential numbers during production.
