Hey guys I just dropped my new motor in. 1980 Malibu with a 350 sbc with vortec heads. It appears the headers I have don’t fit. Looking for ceramic coated long tube or medium tube. What does everyone recommend?

What header? Where/How do they not fit? The exhaust ports?
Asking cause I'm about to drop an L31 Vortec in the Taxi

They are identical to standard heads. I have them on my car.

after 1986, there are only TWO things different than pre-86 cylinder heads
1) valve cover bolts (centerline vs edge)
2) angle of bolts threading in

there should be no other mechanical differences (carb vs EFI doesn't count)

Maybe it’s just a clearance issue. Might have to massage them a little bit to make them work then.

So massaging them isn’t going to work I’ll have to completely mangle the drivers side to even get it close to going in. Anyone have a similar setup. 350 with vortec heads. Let me know what kinda headers your running so I know what to look for. I’m at a bit of a standstill right now. Thanks in advance

What is it that doesn't fit? Bolt holes not lining up?

Sometimes used Manifolds an headers won't line up after they have been taken off. So for headers many cut the flange between the exhaust outlets. For Manifolds heating them up works 9 times out of 10.

Are you sure you have Gbody headers, typically there are very little issues with SBC headers in a Gbody.
Did you replace the frame mounts for the new engine in your car?
