Love this forum, learn something new all the time here. My 78 does not have one at all.

Mine kinda looks like that but without the star pattern. Oh and it is all dried out and cracked and stuff. But it stays up there and lights up when I need it to. Good enough.....

Yes, my cruiser is a brougham edition. It even has doors for the rear storage pockets in back. Never seen this before either.

I pulled the tailgate off of a Bonneville diesel wagon back in 2005, the car was LOADED, it's possible it had everything you could get, and it had those locking doors as well. Only piece missing from the car was the radiator. Sadly, that yard was closed about 6 years ago, and you know what happened to it all.......

Here is the OE lens in a lamp assembly

SAM_1747.JPG

Here is an Elco lens, which I think would fit if you removed the switch from the wagon lamp (or swap to the ElCo lamp assembly. I will probably do that and that way the lamp will come on when the doors open, without having to fumble around for the switch (in a very brittle lens)...kind of annoyed me when I had the lamp in one of the Bonnevilles.

Anyway, they both measure 7 3/16" long, 1 1/4 wide at the ends, 1 5/16 in the middle and a half inch tall

I've found alot of wagons in the wreckers or sitting here or there and have only seen two of them with the locking cubby doors. One had them both the other only had one...

I think they're kinda cool and one of the first things I look for when I find a wagon...
