DO I HAVE TO TAKE THE EVAPORATOR OUT TO CLEAN DRAIN?
No, absolutely not. Just remove the top screen and you'll see the open cavity where the water drains. First try running your hose thru . If it's not gushing out on the bottom of the box, then you may have to take a piece of wire and clear out whatever junk is plugging the drain hole. Very simple.

I had a bad leak in the kick panel area. Turned out there are two factory holes on each corner seams of the firewall, engine side. These holes were poorly sealed by the factory with this lame foam sealent that falls apart letting the holes act like funnels to catch rain water. To see these holes let alone to reach them you must remove both front fenders, it is the only way to reach them. Because of this it is best to reseal these holes with epoxy seam sealer, not the $10 crap.

I tryed resealing the top ac box again using a good seam sealer. It's like I never did anything. Are plugs by the door hinges the one you are talking about? If not do you think I can unbolt wheel well and bottom of fender and find or feel this holes to fill? I have a vinyl wrap on car and don't want to cut buy fender and header.Been screwing around 3 weeks on this. :blam:

Also does the chrome trim piece that goes along the bottom windshield have to be on not to leak. I would say no it's just cosmetic and for the wipers. :blam:

The stainless shield under the windshield is pretty much cosmetic, although the wipers do kind of ride on it. If you suspect that area to be leaking, you can unbolt the shield and check for rust underneath.

I once had to remove the right side fender and wheel house to seal a leak. Pretty much what Clone TIE Pilot had described.

Well guess the fender deal is my next project and seems like the last thing to try. Car is rust free except for the surface rust on r/s floor that I cleaned up. If I ever fiqure out how to post a pic I will.

These cars can leak in any number of places. I would have someone run a hose in the particular area in question while you're inside the car with a flashlight. This way you can determine if the fender and wheelhouse have to be removed.
Good luck with that. Don't be afraid to ask questions, that's what we're all here for.

NEED MORE HELP. I PULLED OUT WHEEL WELL TO TAKE A PEAK BUT DON'T SEE THE HOLES OR CAN I FEEL THEM. I SEE A SEE A SEAM IN COWL THAT RUNS BY HEATER BOX BUT THAT IS SEAM WELL. CAN ANYONE SEND A PIC WHERE THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT? I CAN FEEL A SPOT UNDER THE TALL BOLT IN REAR THAT IS FOR FENDER. IF ANNY ONE CAN SEND ME THERE EMAIL I CAN SHOW U WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT. MY EMAIL IS [email protected]

See the rectangle on the bottom. That is the drain. This is a non A/c heater box. But the A/c heater box should be the same. Its been awhile since I have seen one. Hope this helps....I know my car was plugged causing water to get in the passenger side.
