just 4 bolts on the pulley and tap it off. u can get a new at any parts store and some parts stores even carry the steel chrome ones.

yeah cuz i got a stock 307 and the water pump belt the one that goes from water pump to alternator is making a belt whining noise i already change the belt and alternator and am sure its the alternator belt cuz i took it off and the belt screech when away and am sure its not a coincidence ... so any ideas how much a new pulley will run me and ... does one come with all the 3 positions for all three diffrent belts ??

if it has a new belt u might wanna try tightening it or loosing it up a bit. i over tightened one one time and it would wine. but u can get a new pulley for like 20 or 30 bucks. and u can get with 1 or 2 grooves.

Pulleys do wear out. If you look closely at it you will see tiny serrations that grip the belt. If they are worn down, or painted over, even a new belt will squeel.

well i did everything i can i loosen the belt tighten the belt sanded the pulley cuz it was rusted and thought that was it and still no luck

Your not going to find a water pump pulley for an Olds engine at any parts store. They are not reproduced. All the chrome "bling" pulley's are typically for Chevy's. And universal at that.

You can get aftermarket pulley's for the Olds engine, but you will need to replace all the pulley's. The 307 Y engines had a pretty funky pulley arrangement compared to the 307 vin 9's and older 350's, 403's, 455's, etc.

And technically, there's 4 "nuts" you must remove, not bolts. When you remove those 4 nuts you'll be able to remove the fan/fan clutch. It's been a while since I've messed with the stock fan/shroud setup so you may also need to remove the plastic fan shroud and pull the shroud and fan out together.

Once that's done the pulley should come right off. You may need to lightly tap it with a hammer to break it free if its been on there a while.

Out of curiosity, do you still have the AC system hooked up?

yup i still have the ac hooked up everything is completely stock .. umm i just changed all 4 belts .. and seems like ama have no choice but go to junk yard and play it that way .. but thanks man u got me motivated to pull that fan out and everything thanks man i appreciate the advice
