Were F41s the only cars to come with factory rear sway bars?

IIRC, El Camino's with the F-41 package, only got a 1 1/8" front bar and NO rear bar at all.

All 78-80 Grand Ams (2 and 4 door) had the upgraded front sway bar and a rear sway bar.
No F41....frame to cradle or fender to rad support bars.

Most Regals came with the core support x-braces but lack the other braces and a few body mount bushings. GM just set up the handling in these cars in weird ways.

And, if I may add, I had two Grand Am's. One came with a steel core support and steel "X" brace, and the other one came with an aluminum core support and aluminum "X" brace. Both had the 1 1/4" front bars and the 7/8" rear bars.

Hey grandamman. Did all grand Am's come with the high effort, 14 to 1 heavy duty steering box?

Re: Were F41s the only cars to come with factory rear sway b

I guess what I'm getting to here is, can I just bolt on the stock rear sway bar I just bought without messing with my current front sway bar, which is a non-F41, standard bar?

Re: Were F41s the only cars to come with factory rear sway b

According to Mark Savitske's book (How To Make Your Muscle Car Handle), you generally start with the front bar, and then match the rear bar to it.

So in theory, I'm gonna need an F41 front bar? Will the car handle any worse with the F41 rear bar and the standard front bar?

Re: Were F41s the only cars to come with factory rear sway b

Why not just bolt it on and see if you like it? It's only 4 bolts IIRC; you can always take it back off.

Re: Were F41s the only cars to come with factory rear sway b

I believe it is unsafe to run a rear sway bar that is larger than the front sway bar.

Re: Were F41s the only cars to come with factory rear sway b

That is my concern, is that I will get a shitload oversteer as a result. I may just bolt it on, and take it once around the neighborhood, and if it is really bad, I'll take it right off.
