Misalignment is not that hard to identify or locate. On pulleys it shows as smooth shiny places on the pulley shoulders. On the belt, one side is worn more or frayed more than the other. Easiest way to check for misalignment is just to remove the belt(s) and lay a thin metal yardstick down vertically into the pulley groove so it sits down on the bottom. if the metal strip gets forced one way or another to fall into place, that is your culprit. For myself, I don't this option as likely simply because you would have noticed it the first time you fired the engine with the accessories and belts in place.

I am not sure why he would install solid mounts on what appears to be a stock or mild SBC instead of the stock clamshell style but it looks like a mismatch between upper and lowers they shouldn't be squished closed like that when mounted.

Okay, I bought these Mounts from JEGS and it seemed to be the only mount set that I could find with a three hole triangle Pattern they at the time didn't seem to have the Clamshell I was looking for or they didn't show the hole pattern needed. As for the inner outer placement of the mount/s I know nothing about that. Either way I see that the mounts will hold up to stock 305 from 1984.

Rear axle truss welding done and new rear wheels/tires mounted with some steel 4" spacers tacked in to frame. Hasn't been out in the light on probably 24 months. Progress is still progress.

Picked and finally put some new shoes on the G wagon today. Corvette knock offs in 17x9.5 with 275/40/17 treads.

Went 0 for 3 last night with Holley's shot at resolving the "RF interference", first put the tin foil back and cut the pink wire that was ignition to make it a full time power to the battery. No luck, did the normal run for a few seconds and die. Second was to then disconnect the alternator, exact same outcome. Then was to also disconnect the electric fans which also had the same result........

Got rid of the squeaking by tightening the alternator belt, but I still have too much play in the power steering belt which I couldn't sort out (only got the bolt behind the pulley off and that wasn't enough).

Smaller win...my grille springs came so my grille isn't dangling around, although I should have just gone to a hardware store and got some springs for $2. My trunk switch also came so I temporarily mounted that on the drivers side.

Still have to figure out why my front left tire is hitting the fender (235/60/15). It was doing it before I put the new springs and shocks on and it's still doing it. It's the only tire that's rubbing and I'm not sure if it's body mounts, control arms, or the fender well.

A couple of years ago I put a BeCool aluminum in radiator with dual electric fans. The relay I had running it fried. So I put this Ron Davies unit in it. It’s only been a couple of weeks but I’m pretty happy with it.
