Experimented with vinyl wrapping to change the look of my dash. The woodgrain plastic pieces are perfectly preserved under the vinyl should I want to remove it. Its not perfect, but should look good enough when installed.

Nice! Here are a couple pics of when i did my dash parts years ago. However, i used very strong adhesive backed carbon fiber sheet. There is no chance of preserving the original pattern which is fine for me since they were in rough shape anyways.

That looks good! I used a 3M brushed steel textured vinyl, I hope it holds up.

It should be fine, as long as the surface was squeaky clean!

The only time a mechanic has touched my car clear back during the warranty period they put a big ding in the rear hood molding along with a small chip in the fender paint nearby but then naturally said they couldn't have possibly done it. So, along with some other stuff, I noticed that Gbodyparts had them so I ordered one. Unfortunately, it is flat black. Am I supposed to like paint this thing with chrome paint? I have the same question in to them too but haven't heard back yet.

If so, any one have special tricks, lessons learned etc.?

Also, since I decided to do the converter caps for my Saber wheels so I can put SSIII 442 caps on them, I splurged and ordered a new set of caps from Gbodyparts along with a new turn signal lever since all the chrome is peeling off of mine [too]. $220, not cheap, but so glad I did. The 30 year old caps looked a bit out of place on these new wheels and these new caps look like they belong. They are not quite done with my converter caps [Monday now] so I'll snap some picks when I get them.

I think I would try to have your rear hood molding restored. Nothing fits like the real thing. There is someone out there that can fix it.

pushed it back over to the middle of the garage. all my time and funds i had to put in to it went and is still going in to fixing my truck..grrrr

I attempted to install my coolant lines front he back of the intake, first issue was that Chrysler neck is not bolt pitch as the Chevy even though it seems to tell you it is all over the internet. The Chevy thermostat fits it and the gasket will seal it so I slotted the holes. Next issue that cam along was the spacer I am using has to be facing forward cause the fitting on the passenger side is interfered with by the intake. So that means I need 2 more 90° elbows. I did accomplish something though, I was able to get the caps off the of beer...
