Dropped the gas tank out of the Monte........Glad I did........

Even gladder? I had a spare!!

when I switched my tank I made new metal lines and made them shorter to stop just in front of the tank. I put in longer rubber lines from the pick up so I was able to put the tank in and then attach the lines

Happy birthday Garth. Even if it's a little early.

Thanks all. Though I planned on going yesterday, I am actually going to town tomorrow.

Might as well put the damn DMV visit off until the last minute . . . but the rear end is going along for the ride.

Last day of my 2 1/2 week vacation, it's going to be a nice day here, so I am going to wash and wax before driving to the beach. No one is home is the day is mine

I spent half my workday today with the boy and working on the hood. Wetsand 800,1200,1500. Then a wash and dry to show him how to look at the hood on angle with the light to the side so he could see where he missed.
I figured that its not staying on the car anyways so we moved on to heavy then light compound washing in-between and drying to again point out where and what was missed. Then Sealer, Polish and 2 coats of wax.

We just put it on the car and it looks good ( but could be better ) Wouldn't you know it the paint matches 99% so it wont be a temporary hood after all ! Now my OCD is telling me to go back to step #1 to do it right. I crack myself up.

I am impressed that this old hood came back to life. It sat outside on a car for 10+ years and the paint surface was so rough and stained that I really thought it would have to be sanded and repainted.

Finally finished making sealing gaskets for my marker lights with some OE quality EPDM foam I picked up awhile back. I officially have them safely packed and stored away, which will also keep the wife off my tail for one less thing laying around :)!!

^ I mean you couldn't have duplicated them to exacting tolerances on a machine any better . . .

Actually, I stare long enough at those 3 gasket outlines and I can see Jesus on a piece of toast!

Yeah, I know, I'm gonna burn . . .
