I had to swap in new gas pistons for the wagon rear glass. These things just don't last very long. But they do let you know they are shot when the glass comes down on your head. Luckily RockAuto has good prices on them.

Go to Dollar Tree on Metropolitan Ave 1.10 out the door!!!

Oh, I am well aware of the many uses for vice- grips. This one's a winner!

Replaced the pistons and rings in my 5.3 after breaking one of the stock pistons. The whole bottom end looked really good. Reassemble, install, promptly eats a rod bearing.

The highest of highs, the lowest of lows.

A few parts came in the mail last weekend. Im still waiting on others. I can not wait until this warmer weather gets here! These are for the Salon. Also have a set of 5A Heads and an A4 intake for the Supreme, on the way.

Couldn't sleep this morning. Got up and pulled the oil pan off expecting to see a rod that got hot. No dice.

It looks like the mains are cooked dry!?! I didn't take the crank out or touch the main caps when I had it apart. Oil pressure is great but it's not oiling right. I put the lifters in that were in another engine but I don't think that would be the problem. Changed filters and oil twice. Don't know what it's issue is.

Last week I changed my starter and today I took advantage of the nice weather (record of about 80 degrees today. Been warm and dry all Winter. Bad thing is we are in a drought and might have wildfire problems this Summer like 2011. Not good....) and changed my oil and cleaned and waxed the car.
