So I just discovered something that I think will be helpful for people looking to upgrade their steering shafts. So I pulled 2 steering shafts from 2 95 Jeep Grand Cherokees, they were right next to eachother so I grabbed both. One was a V8 the Other was the I6, and the steering shafts are different. At first glance they look pretty much identical, but the opening for the steering wheel end is a smaller size on the shaft from the 6cyl, vs the 8cyl.

Which is the one that fits?
The one with the bigger opening. When searching for Jeep shafts ,always check the column shaft. It will be apparent. Just look at your gbody, the right Jeep has a column shaft the same size. The wrong Jeep will have a noticeable smaller shaft..timo22

Swapped the spark plugs and wires that I picked up last week.

While I was at it, I yanked the valve covers and adjusted the rocker arms. I was hearing some extra clatter especially on the driver's side bank.

I was happy to find a few a little too loose.
