Drained the last of the fluids, chopped off the exhaust and transmission cooler lines, pulled the shifter linkage, unbolted the converter and unbolted the trans, pulled the driveshaft, wiring/cables/etc disconnected...

Next we hook up the engine crane and transmission jack to make room for stuff that doesn't suck... and BOOOOOOST!

I've been checking out some tires today. I read that Toyo R888 and Nitto NT01 have the same compound. Anyone who uses Nitto and Toyo can confirm this? There's a difference in the price but some people say both tires have the same compound on a different carcass. How true is this?

I swapped on the snow tires. I try to avoid salty roads after fixing all the rust spots but if I need a reliable winter vehicle the wagon is perfect. Posi rear, manual trans, and real snow tires are pretty hard to beat.

I was feeling crappy about pulling the Whaler out while big Bass were around. Now I feel vindicated! Love wagons!

Fixed leaky thermostat gasket. Put new rad cap on as well. Murray part # from Oreilly's #7616 16psi cap. Gonna order some stuff, hope to get it by wednesday.
Edit: The loudest noise my car has ever made is now coming from behind the speedometer. It is a squeaky howl, only comes on while driving above 20mph. I think it's my speedometer cable. Hopefully lube will fix it, don't really feel like replacing it right now.
