Just an idea. If you can find an old trailer house being scrapped. Get the furnace out of it. They make good garage heaters. I had three good radiant heaters a while back and scrapped them. If you talk to the furnace guys, they usually have old take-out furnaces they will sell cheap.

Funny you mention that, the mother in law has a old trailer house on her property that the roof fell in last winter from all the snow, it might be a bit dangerous to get it out but it would be free! Lol....

A new mr. heater 50k btu is $350, it has a thermostat and will work. I'll stew over it a bit and make a decision.

Fixed, upgraded a few things on my 97 Tahoe. The headlight lenses were very oxidized. The remote mirrors didn't work and the drivers exterior door handle was broken. The high beams and turn signals didn't work. I got a lightly smoked headlight set which came with bulbs. There is a screw holding the grill in place in the center bottom that is very difficult to get to so I drilled an access

hole and resolved that problem. They really improved the appearance and greatly improved visibility. Replaced the door handle without disconnecting the window regulator and window. That made the job harder but not impossible. There are 2 bolts, one in the door jamb and one inside. Reinstalling the inside bolt was by far the most difficult part of the job because it is so short and at a slight angle to the bolt hole. After several attempts I managed to get it in. The fit isn't the best but it works well and feels solid. The mirror switch went tight in with no problems. I checked fuses, relays and wiring but found nothing wrong that would prohibit the high beams and turn signals from working. Once I closed everything up the high beams and turn signals are now working. Maybe a loose connection??? Anyway, about 5 hours and less than $100 and everything is working as it should.

by drilling that hole I hope you did not void the manufacturer's warranty or damage the structural integrity of the truck... o_O

I hope the plastic grill didn't weigh too heavily when the crash test data was formulated.

You can remove the grill and leave the filler panel in there, that's how I take mine apart. The grill has 3 big snaps in the bottom.
That sound great but mine has about 10 screws. There are also 3 snaps.

Fixed a old Tyco train I haven't seen run in about 35 years just to have the plasic tie bar between the engine & coal tender as I got it set up on the track to show the Jr. Mechanic that did ran. Even fixed the hacked wire job my brother did years back on the steam whistle box for that trains original set.

Cleaned the shop out for the Pinewood Derby workshop I'm hosting for the Girl Scout troop tomorrow. Fleming's Garage took 1st and 3rd last year, so we can make'em fast. I polish the axles and wheels while they "buid" the cars.
