People are like 'old carz r so big'
But drive schlong bed ext cab half tons without a second thought

Had a rental f150 for a work trip and gave parking it in the garage a shot. ehm no.

Pros- aluminum body, coyote with a 10 speed and controls are the same as the wifes fusion so it's familiar
Cons- rides like a lumber wagon, more harsh than my wasted 265k mile rainier suspension over dumps, hard to get into without running boards, can't fit into my garage. They definitely didn't design garages in the 50's for 21 foot long pickups.

I'd give a shot driving a medium bed ext cab 5.0 to see if the ride is better (I think this is a HD f150 so it's probably got heavy springs and a bit more ride height) but I think I'm stuck with a tahoe/yukon if I want a full frame v8 RWD based thing that fits in my garage.

The regular v8 version don't handle any better, they feel nervous and sketchy. My 2016 F150 work truck was WAY better than the new ones.

Well about last Thursday for some reason my Step Father decided he was going to start up the truck and back it up, in a different spot in front of the Trailer then ends up doing this.

Today and while we still have some warm weather left for 3 days, I just finished installing the Used Mirror I found on Ebay for $50 bucks. Works like a charm!

I put the winters on the Jeep, these Michelin X-ice are so much quieter than the Motormaster winters I had on it before. I'm glad all the tires are mounted on rims so it makes it easy for a switch.......I get a discount on my insurance for the 4 winters and are supposed to be on Nov 1. but we had no snow in the forecast. We do now....

The TBSS has 7.5 year old Nitto NT420s (420 is the tread wear rating) on it... which are more like NT699s now. Freezing rain is a treat.

COVID is saving me from buying new snow tires this year.

I looked up those tires and I like them.....but there is no need for performance tires on my Jeep, your daughter's Corvette would beat it in a 1/4 mile even if they allowed me to stage it half way down the track....

Tore down and cleaned the cluster in the 76 f250. Mice used it as a turd depository. Did the orange Sharpie trick on the faded needles. Turned out ok. I need a new printed circuit board. Delaminating in a few spots, no doubt due to the mouse piss. The gauge faces themselves weren't too bad just faded needles and poop.

It's brighter irl but half the cluster of course isn't lit due to the damage to the board.

My 64swb project got it's 67-72 tilt column pieces sectioned. I need to tack them together & partially reassemble to validate the length is correct...

Couple of small projects got some attention. Migged some washers to some pegboard hooks so I could hang them and then use a wood screw to anchor them. Keeps the hooks from popping off the pegboard when I grab a tool.

Spent some more time completing the passes for the inner seams in the collector reducers for the Monte. Ground the excess down and will give it a look to see if there are any skips. This is work involving putting the gun down the inside of the tube and offering prayers that I am close enough to the edges that the wire will join them. Strictly speaking this work was not really necessary but seaming those edges together closes them off to moisture or carbon infiltration and results in a stronger construct when it is all done.

Dug yet another Indian Chief wheel hub out of the rust bath and gave it a coat of paint stripper. Let it sit, wiped/rinsed it off; literally lather, rinse repeat.!!! Doesn't look so bad now. Was able to dress down a couple of dings where someone had tried to use a long drift or pin punch to hammer the bearing sleeve out and bent the locating shoulder instead. The shoulder is part of the casting and no where near accessible. Dremel and an adjustable speed wheel to the rescue. Cleaned up the sleeve pocket using a brake hone and some thread cutting oil for lube. Back to the garage to complete cleaning it in prep for paint.

The 700R4 is sitting on the engine stand and today is clean the gasket faces day. Likely going to mask off the opening so that only the rails are showing and give my Dremel tool something else to deal with. NO, I am NOT flogging the merits of the Dremel tool per se; not an endorser or paid spokesbody. I just make it do things the mfgr probably never thought it could do and which would make them run screaming for the nearest exit if they saw me at it.

Too cold to be outside and happy to finally have heat in the shop.

Pressure washed my new to me snow plow and gave it a good once over. Got it mounted up. Looks to be in good enough shape. It has some surface rust but that's kinda the nature of the beast. I gave it a wipe down with some WD40 and it looks half decent. Now I've got to rebuild the spool valves I bought last year and start hooking up the hydraulics.
