At last, my quest for unlimited data has been completed. I signed up with https://www.dalkonet.com/ , rented a trencher, laid 210' of 2" pipe, planted a 4x4 post, and pulled a 250' CAT7 from the road side to my living room. Maximum speed is 150Mbps for $300/mo. No thanks, too rich for my blood; I'll settle for 30 at $105. It's finally over!

Spendy! I have DSL at an unknown speed for $40/mo. Such is the cost to live away from people huh?

Yup, it's not quite double the 100G capped, 4G cell hotspot i had, which has been the best option thus far. CATV & DSL are nonexistent, and satellite was the worst with roller coaster speed and 20G cap.

I've had 1 experience with satellite and the latency was horrible. Not sure if that can be improved upon in the future as I too want to live in the boonies when I grow up.

Don't get it twisted- that's a hi dolla winery across the street that draws a couple hundred every weekend, a bunch of douches that can't drive unless there's lines on the road. It was a nice little farm when I moved in.

I guess you can thank them for the newfound interwebs? I will say it's surprising how not far out you get from town when your internet options tank.

I laid 6" of 1" pipe today... and also felt like a hero when I was done.

Started my planned 'holiday' activities. Going to use the next 2wks to get my '99 3/4 ton CC short-bed updated to my spec.

The bad:
*Previous owner/s had some sort of aftermarket hitch welded in under the rear that they apparently wanted to keep. Their removal process was only partial & left material & hardware on the frame that prevented installation of a new hitch.
*Spare tire winch set-up was broke & wouldn't let the spare down to access under the bed.
*Front suspension has a death wobble.

The GOOD:
*New Curt Class IV modular hitch for install. Going to try making it a 'hidden hitch' tucked out of sight.
*5/7 drop w/all new Moog 'Problem Solver' front suspension pieces, Bell Tech drop spindles/flip-kit/C-sections + additional home built reinforcements.
*Revised exhaust to clear the rear drop.
*Updated rolling stock for a 'Scot-BILT' look.
Passenger rear c-notch installed. It's temporary while I complete the drivers side. Once both sides are installed, I'll start the next phase of the additional reinforcements.
One pet peeve is the mis-match between the frame rail & edge of the notch bracket being different. So part of the installation process for me is truing up the edges. The frame in that area now is nice & straight vs. the OE wavy edge....

I used to drag here back in elf school. Those Hot Wheels tracks up there are exactly a quarter-mile away from here. On green, I'm going for it.

Now get off my shelf and get back in the damn box until next year.
