Got the estimate from the bodyshop for the accident I was in yesterday.
My '04 Dakota got rear-ended in a chain reaction crash, I was hit by a GMC SUV the got tagged in the rear by a Nissan.
Punted her into my bumper, trailer hitch, bed and tailgate.
Ended up with a bent frame, essentially totalling the truck. Box came forward and hit the cab, rebounded back into place but the frame is shorter by about 2" on one side.
So, now we get to play in the insurance adjuster game, and see what they'll pay.
Wanted to get a couple more years outta that one.
Maybe I'll swap a SBC into my Willys...........

I took the Valve Cover off my '98 Jaguar I just bought to check the timing chain tensioners. '96-01 Jag V8's had Plastic body timing chain tensioners that get brittle, crack and eventually shatter and valves hit the pistons about .1 seconds later.

The Metal body tensioner between the cams means my 41K mile 1998's Tensioners were already replaced by a previous owner. The silver would be black or orange plastic. One less thing to worry about. So I bolted the valve cover back on and called it good.

Mowed all 3/4 acre of it. FML. Kids better appreciate growing up in a field.

I had replaced the combination valve on the Jeep but didn't get a chance to test it. Well, it worked great! No more rear wheels locking up.The brakes never felt so good. Money well spent.

I haven't been on in a while to much rain to work on projects but the sun came out today and I got hit with the honey do list. I began to pushmow the back yard with the 19 or 20" self-propelled lawn mower which by the way the self-propelled unit does not work so it's like pushing a brick. I made about six or eight passes from one side of the yard to the other working my way from the house towards the back which by the way doesn't even make it an eighth of the way. Shut the mower off walked over to my wife and said we need a riding lawn mower! She said well we could get one I said no like we need one now. Lol so I went in the house got a glass of iced tea and started the cone the One ads Craigslist Facebook Marketplace and my wife says did you try let go well I'm like oh I found a riding lawn mower up the street from my house for 250 bucks and now it's Lauren's new ride

Ughh, my roofer called mid week to say I am still a week out before he can come do my house. So my long weekend project is to get the guy who doesnt like heights ( me ) up on the 2nd story roof to get to fixing it my damn self. My poor old safari van now has 1100 lbs of shingles, tar paper and ice n water shield on it now ( in addition to a 60 of rye to soothe my nerves )
I got supplies Friday, rained all day saturday and I had planned to to start today after breakfast but there was a surprise knock at the door at 730 this morning. My daughter took a 6 hour red-eye bus ride to surprise us with a one day visit ( yippee !!! ). She's got a ride back home 4 hours north that leaves at 10 in the morning with a friend so I hope for a start to finish before the rain in the evening LOLOL

I fixed the A/C on my '89 TTA. A guy my dad met BSing at breakfast on Thursday had an old industrial bottle of R12 that had "at least a car's worth of Freon" in it. He wanted to get the $65 Deposit for an empty bottle, but "didn't know what to do with the R12".

Dad flanged up the deal and I got my A/C recharged with R12 for free. Once it was blowing cold, it was only blowing out defrost vents. Pulled the control out and the little vacuum control disk was broken. Found the repair video on Youtube, went to Menards for Nuts/bolts and $1.68 later had everything to fix at least 10 3rd gen HVAC vacuum selectors control valves. I love Menards.

Also fixed the power antenna and that was pretty much my weekend in Omaha. Loaded up my T-Type in the Trailer and trucked it back to Texas, today.
