Bezos??? Ching-Chong= the land of offshore Chop-Suey??? UH-UH!! My personal go to for that stuff is Napa. The price might be higher but any issues or warranties get handled on the spot. I don't have to learn to speak Cantonese or Mandarin or Szechuan and have some low order flunkie no speakie 'merican.

I suppose I can come clean now, you guys seem like the type that make questionable decisions with power tools. It's never bitten me in the *ss so hard as now. I made a mattress foundation out of leftover 2x4s and overpriced plywood to lower our mattress and began making a foundation to raise the crib mattress for kiddo #3. I maxed myself out on leftovers for said structure and landed in a position where I was trimming scraps to fill the gap. I cut the first one a smidge too long, so I set the planer at 1/16" and proceeded to send that ~6" long chunk of 2x4 into the hand planer via the left and right hand. I now recommend against this maneuver. The planer kicked the 2x4 out and whacked my left hand pretty good. The planer whacked my hand, not the 2x4 as initially thought.

That clump of wet, oozing blood represents the chunk of my ring finger that no longer exists. Thankfully fingertips beneath the cuticle have a tendency to regenerate themselves so at some point I should look normalish again. What's insane is that, in just a couple short hours after the incident, the finger is already reassuming its appropriate shape. This was a 5 hour long ER experience and the Lidocaine shots didn't hit near as hard for me as they did for most so in the end to stitch it up they had to ram the needle directly into the wound on both fingers to get it to take. F me that sucked, but that was 2 days ago. Yesterday I slammed the rest of the mattress lift together and cleaned my garage mess and pulled the Z06 in. Today I sanded it, it fit perfectly, and I got chipping away at refinements on the kiddos' bunk bed. Hand seems to be doing just fine until I extend it just right and holy sh*t does it hurt when I hit the stitches! When the planer hit it I thought I just got smashed with the 2x4 until a split second later when I saw my flipper finger skin flap pointing up and the chunk missing from my ring finger. What's weirder is that it really didn't hurt much at all until they tried stitching it all back together. Hurt like hell the morning after the after that nothing. I'll watch my range of motion but otherwise press on with my projects as I'm FINALLY walking in a brace that fits in a shoe. Should be running (slowly) again in 6 weeks and pressing on to some semblance of normaltude unless I find another new way to injure myself.
OUCH! That initial lack of pain typically comes from two sources. The first is that the source of the injury is sharp and quick; gives the body no time to react. Second, localized shock kicks in just as rapidly and along come the endorphins, your body's internal pain blockers, to try and minimize the pain (feedback) as much as possible. I would hazard a guess that your planer blades are/were sharp enough to shave with. A mixed blessing but the benefit? is they cut cleanly instead of ripping or tearing.

Glad to hear that the finger tip is going to self-regenerate. The human body used to be able to do that for a lot of its bits and pieces but it has kind of forgotten how for a very long time now.

Just thinking aloud here but you might want to visit your planer with a view to checking its internals for blood spatter and bits. Know that sounds gruesome but blood sprays and left uncleaned up or removed can cause damage to the surfaces or parts it is sitting on.

Get well soon.

McLellan, them's looks like weatherpak couplings in your picture. And you are right, the little pins and sockets have to line up just right in the housing or connection or they will not slip together and snap closed. Sometimes you can take a very small slotted screwdriver and gently nudge the pin or socket over slightly to get it to center in the housing slot. Don't push too energetically 'cause they can crush or deform.

If the pin has popped out of its pocket you can take a micro-tip slotted screwdriver and carefully pull the wings further away from the central sleeve of the connection. Then when you push the pin, or socket, back into the housing it will snap in more securely. Weatherpak offers components by themselves so you can build or adapt what you have to remove or add pins and sockets. You do need a special weatherpak tool that slips down over the pin or socket to push back the wings into the body so it will slip out of the housing. Was just doing that myself a day or so back because I needed to swap out wires and install new ones.

If you can, if you go to remove the pin or socket, take care to harvest that little grommet by lifting the ears that crimp it into position and pushing it out of the way while you cut the old pin or socket off. If you don't tear it then it can be re used. Over the counter you have to buy them by the package, =$$$.

Thanks, yeah I had just seen a few days prior one of those sets on a Facebook ad that had all the keys for them. I wasn't really going to mess with it anyways, I decided to just cut them off and was planning on running the two into one and then making it an adapter for the 2057 bulb. I was less than impressed with the response of the seller but he has me by the balls being the only one in the US to sell that piece that I saw. He wasn't happy that I made him take 10 bucks off each unit I bought since the first ones I bought that were supposed to be sequential were not. His easy solution was return and buy these which were 20 bucks more so had to fight with him about it for quite a while. Now I am sure he thinks I am one of those people just trying to get it for free, but was debating on making these up to sell since I haven't seen anything like it and think it would fit both the blazer and g body setups.
His response was "that would be plastic molding when the cover was removed from the mold cant help it. the plug might be a bit tie but it can still plug in. i see you asking for perfection on $39 lights im sorry we just part retailing it has not giving issues cant change the way its made best i can offer you is to return for refund if you can not use it." I had to have the same fight with him when I offered to buy a second set from him to ship me the right one and then return the first set I bought that were not as advertised. But he tried hiding behind that his supplier would not allow it, I guess enough of the people he deals with were dumb enough to accept that answer. Now I am just debating on if I should continue to bicker with him for fun, hahaha

Anywho installed for the most part.......

I went looking the night of and didn't see anything in the planer so it must have spit it all out. There were about a half dozen thin slices on the ground that looked like I ran it through a meat slicer and some blood spatter about 8 feet from the scene of the attack. I had to think for a minute, I never walked over there, did I? Nope. Gotta wonder how much more is out there that I'll find in the weeks to come.

LOL I still have 2 thumbs so I jammed that long one out last night on my phone like a Japanese school girl. The keyboard isn't the same for the time being which makes my cushy job more of an asspain as it involves drafting and reviewing a lot of documents.

Bought this yesterday. Price was too good not to. It's a 2005 but it looks like it's hardly been used. Came with all of the original books and tags. It's a 2 cycle which is kinda cool. It'll be nice to have for places the plow won't fit.

It is. I tell myself there are worse addictions as I slowly watch all of my storage space fill to capacity. I don't really have much memory of it but according to my parents, I loved lawnmowers when I was a toddler. Apparently I would sit at the window and watch my dad and neighbors cut when the grass.

What a weird ****ing kid.
