Tackled the gutter and trim today. Original facia was 2-by, new Azek 3/4". Got it ripped out, put blocks between the truss tails , ran a string with a level, only to find the roof 2" out of a whack. So, we held the new facia to the string line, and i ripped a 12' wedge to fill the gap. The whole thing creates a crazy optional illusion with the top filler and the slope of the gutter. Now, i need to find 24" soffit and get some track. The Might-as-Well will be the LED soffit lights on a photocell. Pimpin' ain't easy.

Reminds me of my deck stairs. I made them 8' wide instead of the original 3' wide. Turns out there's a 3/4" difference in deck height at an 8' wide range, so I ripped the stringers 1 by 1 to taper them. I can totally see the wedge in the top step, guessing you can too with the fascia.

What's funny is that, by running the string line, I found out why the gutter never worked right: it was level, if not slightly uphill. No wonder it always overflowed! Duh!

You wouldnt believe how many times I've had to explain this to contractors and H/O. Alot of people would rather it look "right" instead of it actually working. Almost every double door i run into has dropped quite a bit above it. It looks good and should last you quite a while.

Yesterday kicked my pansy @$$, and today was a little slow going. I had some wood eating bugs years ago and had eradicated them with Brakleen, but the damage was already done. Borrowed the neighbor's fine tool, and cut out the worst of it before putting the new trim up. I was going to do the little door, but the sun is on it and it's like 4000⁰. F it.

Awesome solution. I have shot bugs out of the air with carb cleaner and napalmed hordes of ants with that and a lighter.

Couldn’t stand the disaster that it had become, so did a major tidy up and put away, then started scrubbing. It was pretty bad.

A red Scotchbrite and some general household cleaner did a pretty good job of removing the dust, dirt, overspray and polish fling. Looks so much better now.

I’m a bit embarrassed that I let it get so bad, but whatever, it is a functional shop afterall. Not a showroom.

Built a new shelf and a wheel rack in the shed out of scrap and spare materials. Consolidating car parts and freeing up existing shelf space for family things. I still have two Monte doors, a pair of fenders, and a Colorado bumper to move out of the garage. Sheesh.

Again, PM me for parts.

Had an automotive lift sales rep stop by the house today, and while his company couldn't sell us their product he suggested that for our needs this would be more appropriate:

Any feed back would be appreciated. Interestingly Costco carries this brand (not this specific model).

It was also really fun talking shop and cars with someone.
Bottom plate lifts make it a pia to run stuff like Jacks and the like under the car when trying to pull transmissions.
