What type of connectors did you use on you tach wires?

I tried to splice my tach wires into the fuse box today, and I got the tach to work, but the connectors I used didn't work great. I used 3/16" female spade connectors, but they kept falling out. Also what connector works well in the distributor? I got the spade connector to work, but it easily pulled out.

They sell the tach connector at AutoZone, Orielly, etc. might have to order it in. I usually splice the wires into an existing wire so it is a good connection.

You could try squeezing the female connector a little with a pair of pliers.
 
I think a quality wire crimper will solve any issues with wires pulling out and you can also buy the terminal ends that you solder just to give you added protection.

I went to pepboys today and got an 'add-a-circuit' and plugged it into my radio fuse. Should a 3 Amp fuse be sufficient for my autometer tach?
 
I guessing based on your Amazon purchase that you have a stock style HEI for those the factory style connectors with the plastic ends work best and I believe they are available from most auto parts stores either in the electrical section or if your store has a "HELP" section.
You can either run a separate pigtail for both the power and tach. or use a dual set up like this.

Should a 3 amp fuse be sufficient? Or should I swap it to a 4 amp? I used one of those littelfuse "add a circuit" connectors and plugged it into the radio fuse.
 
I think most of the aftermarket tachometers require an inline 4 amp 3AG fast acting type cartridge fuse so I would check the manufacturers specifications first.
