I got my original rusted out hood repaired and the scoop mounted and on the car. The hood trim on this hood is different than the piece on my nose and emblem

What is everyone doing in this situation

I saw on here somewhere someone who deleted the hood ornament by using a piece of hood molding cut down to fit the header. Can't seem to find it anymore. I'm sure the same could be done in your situation with another small piece of Hurst molding or something similar.

I got an 84 H/O, so I have a bullnose flat emblem there. Not sure what you could do. If you had another piece of that trim from the hood you could make another one. Maybe, if you wish, paint the trim to match the hood/scoop.

Another option is to fill the panel, sand and repaint basically smoothing it over.

I just took the ornament off mine and painted the base black temporarily cause I haven't found anything that will fit or look right since the base on 87's is tapered at the end.

That was Rktpwrd that used the hood spear on Oldscool.
I remember that one. But I recall someone doing it with an 81-86 style as well.

Onehit posted a pic of either his car or someone else's with the cut and modify the tip off an extra stock center hood molding from an 81-88 Cutlass 2 door for use on an 84. Not sure how you'd do it on an 87/88 with the taper, but someone could figure it out.

And another one by someone else:

You could always buy that repro H/O hood molding piece that Goodmark made. P/N GMK4562255813. Not sure if that is both pieces or just one. Descriptions says it's the front piece, but I dunno.

I've got NOS spare pieces but I'm not cutting them up just for that.
