That looks like a Buick to me! Couple hundred bucks, if it runs good.

Back when the 4.1 Buick came in a Cadillac, I don't know what it would be worth probably not much so you might as well build it and put a turbo on it and throw it in a Gbody.

The parts listed in first(1 and 2) post is what I was wanting to know what to sell for. As a matter of fact, I am using the short block for a turbo build.

Intake is maybe $50. For performance they're worthless, just let's you physically mount a 4bbl carb, and yet for about $100 you can get a performance oriented one used.

The carb is also maybe $50 if the engine has been running and driving recently and doesn't need a rebuild. They're CCC and low cfm so not really much demand.

Most guys rather delete the computer and buy new edelbrock/holley when doing the swap.

Then again, going from 2 bbl to 4bbl nets you maybe 15-20 hp tops IF you make other changes at the same time... taking that stock 3.8 up to a whopping 130 or so hp.

Found some info about the qjets. .
  • "Re: Quadrajet CFM differences

The carbs themselves are all the same, with a very very few exceptions that came on motorhomes and some 455s and such in the early 70s. I don't think I've ever seen one of those in all the years and the hundreds of Q-Jets I've had or worked with.

They are all about 750 CFM, except for those rare few that are a little over 800.

Some that come on smaller motors like 305s have a tab on their air valve that limits its travel, thereby "lowering" their CFM "rating". However, grind or bend that tab, and then they're the same "rating" as all the rest.

"CFM rating" is simply the wrong question to ask about a Q-Jet."
