Gimme a sec, man. I'm gonna go read the label on what I use on my aluminum wheels. It's a type of acid wash and it works great!

Alright well unfortunately most of the label has faded/wiped off, but it seems to be made by a company called "hi temp." It's pink and has a yellow label. You'll also need a spray bottle and a toothbrush. You just dilute it to about 2 parts water, 1 part acid (I think) scrub it in, let it sit, scrub one more time for good measure, then rinse. I usually do this with the wheel off the car so the acid solution can just sit on it evenly instead of run down it. I may even have some before/after pics on here.

Well I don't have the comparison photos I took but I do have these:
Here's what they looked like when I bought the car:

And here's a shot of them after they were cleaned up. Please excuse the quality. It was scanned from an actual photo.

Here's the company that makes it:

Which Eagle 1 did you use? The aluminum wheel one? I used the Eagle 1 Mag cleaner. It has a torque thrust wheel on the bottle, which is the one I used on my torque thrusts. Still need a stiff wheel brush for the bad spots though. Now the bottle says not for certain types of polished aluminum wheels so be careful.I also used it on an older Edelbrock aluminum intake.

Why not sandblast them and spray clear coat instead of paint? I've seen it done and it looks great.
