The light weight compared to the room and size, the fact that any GM V8 is pretty much a bolt in, handling is excellent for very little expense. A handful have some value, but they were mass produced family cars, by and large, so with exception of GNX, GN, H.O., 442, SS and the ‘80 Grand Am, there isn’t much pizzazz. The ‘80 Grand Prix SJ had some good pieces but the pre’81 style was dull.

Well, had some issues with TC1959. Get well my friend. I enjoy your response's.

I have a love/ hate relationship with my El C. This phase is a hate one. Ticked off at what I need to do, can't do it all, want to drive it, too much to do, fishing good, I have to clean up Hurricane Michael crap still and just generally P/O'd at the moment

You don't see yourself driving down the road all the time. In other words, it's not a Camaro or Mustang.

What I don't like is the poor build quality and how they didn't stand up to the test of time very well between rotted frames and cheap plastic interior trim

The last GM midsize body on frame that you could still do old school or go high/modern tech. They’re a blank canvas that you can go any direction you want. What I hate is PARTS SUPPLIERS that charge like we’re all building GNXs,Hemi Cuda’s or LS6 70 SSs. We’ll NEVER see 6 figures for our cars, but the price of parts seems like it . The Gs have they’re factory flaws but we’ve been correcting them.

I learned to drive in the twin of my current wagon. The coupe is a bonus feature.

No one makes reproduction interior pieces in vinyl. Glass has become irreplaceable.

I actually appreciate that these cars dip pretty heavily into the GM parts bin. if you want to change something about your car, there is a good chance that GM made something better that will bolt right in. This has also got us past the hump of waiting for aftermarket support to help us restore these cars.
