I like those guys...especially Edd. He's a very competent mechanic. I did hear something to the effect of Edd leaving the show. I think Mike will carry on with a different show, from what I understand.

Here is a video on you tube with Ed explaining why he left.

If it is true he seems like a stand up guy.

IMO he made the show.

His video makes it sound like corporate greed ($$$) over what works. Seems like alot of the car shows when they hit a certain level the bean counters jump in & removes what made the show (the tech stuff we car guys like to see) then add skits for the non car people to watch. Shame that Edd is leaving, but his professional pride is something I wouldn't want to see him give up just to make bean counters happy.

The perfect example of what Edd speaks of was last night's Gas Monkey/Street outlaws mashup, where Farm Truck/AZN pulled a 6.0L out of a 2500 van and called it an "LS6.0" The description of which was an "All aluminum 5.7L that originally had 385 HP when it came out in 2001, but then later increased to 400HP". Obviously the "non car people" at discovery studios confused an LS6 with and LS 6.0L, but why would a bunch of NYU or UCLA marketing majors know anything about cars.

Man, that sucks. He made the show, and it was the best show. I guess it is a victim of its own sucess. :(

I think Edd stated it fairly. At 1:45 I think he made his case, politely. I stopped subscribing to most car mags because there is no profit printing articles on how a $40 junkyard part will make your Gbody scream - most of those articles have ceased. Articles about bolt-on $400 vendor parts do sell advertising, and that's how the companies stay in business. And I have bought some of those parts over the years.

That said, I don't know how Chris manages to keep the Forum up and running, but I have learned a whole lot here. I pay my way by sharing knowledge and contributing to the community. I hope the day never comes when the Forum has to fold its tent because the profit becomes too thin.

We have to subscribe to Velocity where I am. I don't even know what it costs because I don't care, I refuse to pay a penny for it. Less than a handful of shows worth watching, and of those, most I'd only watch if I was sick on the couch.
Reality tv is out of control, is not actually real and is just plain bland. No substance, unless you're a 14 yo girl who thrives on made up drama, make-up and gossip.
Put em all in a deep pit with no way out....except RR- he can be MY beer assistant.
