Any suggestions on wiring used to make harnesses? I’m looking to complete my temp/compass mirror as well as power outer mirrors and a couple other little stuff. Is there local stores worth checking for or is everyone ordering from online? Looking to make up some harnesses for interior as well as a couple that will run into the engine bay to a fuse box before the battery. Any particular gauge? What’s a good price per foot? Thanks.

I'm recycling/rebuilding most of my wiring from what I have salvaged over the years. What I have bought has been kinda random based on who has what for terminals & terminal housings. For bulk wire I have a stash of NAPA wire I picked up over the past 15-20 years but it's been getting thin.

The factory GM stuff is damned good wire. I've bought spools of Ding How 18ga in multiple colors cheap, though. Any specific gauge you're looking for...?

yeah I try to maintain as much of a harness that I can when i pull a part from the junkyard but having just moved I’ve found that my stash is getting thin too now that I’m going through all my boxes of parts.

nothing particular, no. Whatever is stock I suppose, I don’t know what GM used.

Ive been buying mostly tinned marine grade wire for the past few years. While I was doing the wiring in both of my cars I had trouble finding a few colors. Purple and pink were two of them that nobody could get. I went on ebay and found these two places. Ive bought bulk wire from both. My last order was 10 25' coils of 18ga in 10 different colors for under $25 shipped. I picked the colors. Didnt need black or red. I also bought 12ga in purple and pink. They sell GXL and TXL automotive wire. Same stuff as a factory harness. Both places have multiple listings on ebay. They also sell wire with stripes which makes it easy if you need extra colors.

I buy all the Packard connectors for the bulkhead connector from this place. They have the 56 and 59s in stock and no minimum orders.
