Not sure if this is the correct place for this question. I am re-installing my interior. I came across this, not sure where it goes or if it even belongs to the car. Thanks

Looks like part of your heater control for the vent/defrost vacuum control... any issues with heat/ac?

he's rite^it's the "lock washer"for the plastic push button that keeps the vac diaphragm and the vein'd/port'd part of the switch together.

9 port switch on the right, 2 port switch on the left (see red circles). This is if you were looking up from the bottom of the dashboard view. The orange thing is the fan switch for reference.

I'm betting one of those push pins got brittle and broke. One or both of your port switches are fubar, unless it's been repaired and you're just now finding the spring washer. It's there to maintain tension on the push pin which tries to keep the two pieces of channel ports together tighter to eliminate vacuum leaks while allowing it to rotate.

Well.... I still have mine..... this one is about half that size. Not quite as big as a nickel.
