Which transmission oil? Th350

Hi guys,

Curious which oil to use, drag only, 12 second car.

Th350 fresh rebuilt, rebestus clutches (silver/metal in colour)
Trans go shift kit. Will have cooler in front of rad.

Custom 4200stall 8"

Dextrose 3? Type F?

Please let me know what you think,

I used to use a mix of Dexron and Type F. (non synthetic)

The only one on that list that will work is the Royal Purple.

A lot of the big power turbo LS guys with 4l80e's run John Deere Hygaurd hydraulic oil. Maybe a quart of ATF with it to give some color to the fluid to check the level since it's clear and tough to see on the dipstick. Don't buy the cheap stuff though because the oils actually do have different additives in it.

It's cheap'ish' and has a good amount of additives that make it more resistant to heat over a basic ATF. Red ATF is basically just hydro oil with some detergent and red dye.

Straight Dexron or type f is fine. I ran my car into the low 9's on straight dexron fluid and never hurt it. I went to the Type F later on and can't say I ever saw a gain with it.
