Which way this WIX filter needs to be installed ?

I have a TH350 transmission and just received the WIX filter kit number 58894.

On my old filter ... the oil pick up seemed to be on top. Now this WIX filter seems to be picking up the oil from the bottom ...

Is this alright ?

Only came with on gasket like this below ... should there be 2 of them ?

I just ordered the square one .... did not want to take a risk with something new. Don’t know if the paper ones flow less and why the pickup is on the bottom ...

I hope you let Wix know how they dropped the ball on this one....

They are more restrictive but filter much better is my understanding. They fit fine.
A bottom pick up is better than a top pick up under hard acceleration.

Needs to be installed with the felt side facing the bottom of the pan. Make sure u use the gasket to mount it with. I will suck air and not shift right if u dont.
