I have not purchased any headers for awhile so who builds an 1&3/4" long tube 3" collector that will clear the ac/heater box and oem 350 turbo shift linkage? S far I don`t find any. Street strip 78 GMC Caballlero. Have always used Shoenfeld on the race cars and they definately do not fit those peramitters.

I couldn’t find any for a 500 Caddy that would fit AC, TH400, etc, etc. I made my own. Total including Cerakote about $400. Just do it.

Where did you buy the bends? I want to start building some and I feel like 15 for a bend is stupid money. Who did the cerakote?

Jegs 1-7/8” SBC in-chassis weld-up header kit at about $110. With SBC flanges it would have been about $150. Looked online after they were done and found a place about 50 miles from home and he Cerakoted them for less than $200 because they were new and clean and took little to no prep work. 3.5” collector rings were about $20. Oxygen sensor bung was a couple of bucks. Caddy flanges from a guy in NC were $70 shipped. It wasn’t ‘slam dunk’ easy, but I have the exact headers that I needed. I bought two sets of flanges so I could build turbo headers later on.

Thanks for the tip. I can't get Pontiacs anymore. I'm cobbling old crappy ones together. Frustrating.

OK Have not got much help on this so how about some mid length headers that work with angle plug heads, the heater/ac, and oem automatic trans shift linkage. Has anyone gone this route? Seems like the manufactures don`t build what I am looking for. And I have decided to use 1&5/8" instead of 1&3/4" primary tubes.

Remind us again what engine you are fitting? I assume it’s not a SBC...

You could try Lemons Headers and see if Dan would make them that size and for the clearance you need since his headers go as big as 2.25" primaries for SBC in a Gbody but those also have 2 tubes going over the frame rail requiring a frontrunner.
I have his stepped 2-1/4" to 2-3/8" to 4-1/2" collector on my BBC Monte.
