Who uses these? And what size tires look good on them?

I'm going to put some 14" factory Pontiac wheels on my Bonneville . I have 205-70 tires on them. They Have a little taller sidewall. Probably not an improvement on handling but I wanted to fill the wheel well a little more . Haven't put them on my car yet although I did have some 14" factory wheels on it before . Here is a couple of pics. timo22

You are limited on tire sizes with 14" rims. Here are 245/60R14 tires on factory aluminum rims

30 years ago, 14" wheels were on everything, now they are on virtually nothing. 235/60 is a good size if you can find tires. That is what size I had on my 'Cuda's and AMX's I drove. On my SC360 I had 205/70 Eagle GT's and it handled good but the short tire made its top speed 104 mph at redline.

I have derpy 14s as well, steels. 195/75/14 blackwall Primewells on the front. Need some new ones on the back. Good tires, cheap. Not that this is really a contest, or what the thread's about, I had my Regal upto what I believe was 130ish mph with 195s. Speedo was buried and I was at 4100rpm.

Larger rims are necessary for any decent brake upgrades. I am putting on 225/70R14 tires on the back to drop some rpms and make the speedo accurate. Here is the same tire combo that fit the G body well, almost looks small on my 70 Cutlass. I am considering 255/70R15's for the 70, they should fit the wheel wells are huge.

have 2 sets of 14 inch the gold set is original with 235 's on them and the front tires do rub on the inner fender well when I do a full turn on the wheel the the other set is off of a 85 cutlass and they are 225's no problems with them . Its very hard to get 14 inch tires in Canada BF goodrich is owned by Micheal and only do 1 run of 14 inch tires in the year so when they sell out wait til next year . If I want new tires I have to pay for them first and hope they do a production run early in the year good luck Jeff from Winnipeg
