WHY? Engine temp runs cool in traffic, but overheats on highways?

When fine in traffic and bad on the highways, it signals immediately to me the radiator is the culprit. Clogged or just not enough sheer capacity or something along those lines.

Just a conclusion on the issue of my thread, I purchased an aluminum radiator and now all is well with temps staying
consistent throughout all driving conditions. AZ hotter weather soon due so now I'm not concerned on any road trips
up and down steep mountains.

Thanks for all the ideas and suggestions.(y)

And now on to other repairs..and there are plenty of them.
