Years ago I used to buy a lot of items from Jegs because at the time they were a little more race oriented than Summit but of coarse now Summit carries pretty much everything so now almost all of my orders come from Summit.
The problem I notice is when I compare the two even if Jegs has a lower price when you look at the ship date you realize that they are drop shipping it instead of stocking it, so a few days ago Jegs entices me with a $30 off coupon for spending $200 so I look at the trunk mount AC from Vintage Air that I have in my cart for Summit who has it in stock and I decide since Jegs is showing a ship date of 8-3 if I order it on 7-29 I can wait a few days so now I get an email from Jegs saying estimated ship date from manufacturer is 8-13 and I am back to the reason I order from Summit and now I have to put this on hold until I get it.

That is my exact thoughts too. I try not to buy from Jegs any more because of that. Sometimes I fall for it and I am always disappointed. I talked with a rep two weeks ago and she said the hole drop shipping thing is wrong and dishonest. As for others reading this. I would not buy a engine or transmission from them unless you want to give them your money and then wait 6 to 8 months to get it. The estimated shipping date is a load of crap! Sorry for the rant.

I have no loaltly to either one

I only buy from vendors if the item is in stock and shipping that day or the next depending on what time it is.

If neither one have it I find another shop that does.

What ever happened to the free hats???

I guess I should have had Jegs drop ship it from Summit.

Jegs is advertising in Texas they have no sales tax, since we now have a beautiful Summit warehouse in DFW, they charge sales tax (6 to 8%)

If I was running Summit, I would have put the warehouse in Oklahoma right by a casino (only an hour away) and charged the Okies sales tax.

Our "local speed shop" is now Summit. We've had emission testing for 20 years so local speed shops were pretty bleak since the 1990's and switched to 4X4 / offroad. Since emission testing stops at 25 years, Summit is here at the right time.

I prefer Summit because their website interface is better for me. The amount of filters, reviews, etc... are out number jegs.

I prefer Summit. I live in Pgh. A 2 hour drive to the Talmidge store. If they have it in stock and I order before 8pm I get it the next day. 2 days if it comes from Ga.

I'm mostly loyal to Summit since they're only a 30 minute drive for me. Still, it's often cheaper to order and have it shipped next day than spending the gas to go get it. Of course, if I'm in a real hurry, I do go get it. I like poking through the scratch and dent stuff while I'm there. The stuff is great for the beater.

With that said, I recently ordered something from Jegs since they had the best price on it and I could wait since I wasn't in a hurry for it.
