Looking at a set of wheels that are 15 inch , 10 inch wide with 4.5 inch backspacing. Would these work on my 79 Cutlass without ANY
modifications? I don't want to use wheel spacers or notch the frame. Just bolt on and go........all I am asking............
the front are 15X7 so no problem there.......

Ive got 15x8 on the rear... 15x7 on the front of my GP.

15x8 allows a 245 tire, which does give it that... Bigger in back... look I was after, but I wasn't wanting to go... Overboard... and have the tires stick out really far, which is what 15x10's do.

I had my 15x8 SS1s with 4" BS and 275/60s using a 1/4" spacer (net 3.75" BS) on mine for a while, and it rubbed the inside.4.5 would move it even closer in.

The price of the deal was what was driving me to go to the 10 inch..........I am okay with the fat in the back look....
the choice of 15 inch tires to keep me with a reasonable speedometer reading pretty much keeps me 245 size max.
Anything larger and now I have to change speedo gears and it goes on and on and on........

I'll just have to pass on the deal............thanks to all that replied........

Just so I understand, and this is just for my knowledge........if I have a wheel with say the 4.5 backspacing......to get it away from the frame I'd need
a spacer of say 1.25 is that correct??? Would that then make the backspacing 3.25? Im just trying to understand this........
