Window trim Clips and Studs

My Cutlass was a vinyl top deal. I'm going to be resealing the back within the next week. While the glass is out I want to add the studs for the window trim clips.
I have two questions any chance someone here have measurements of the spacing between them and if any of you have this have you had better luck with the screw in type or the rivet style.

Either one you use, I'd make sure to dab some sealer during installation. Then paint around the studs when installed to ensure they're water tight and rust won't easily form at the stud sites.

I used the screw in clips on my chevelle. Worked ok. But I only replaced the missing or broken ones so I kept the factory spacing.
