Window Wiper Nightmare

Hi all,

1987 El Camino. The window wipers, recently, when turned on, will go up maybe a few inches and then come back down and repeat. As if it thinks it is going through the whole motion but it is not. The window wiper motor is going through the rotation but makes some kind of snap, and then doesn't really seem to finish. We replaced the motor but the same issue is still happening! Is this a circuit board issue? Thanks.

The circuit board controls the wiper functions and they are known to act up and become faulty.
They have been discontinued by GM,but Mikes Montes might have complete used units.

Check the wiper transmission linkage under the cowl.

the gear in the motor that drives the wipers is nylon, sounds like the gear is stripped.
