Well its that time of the year here in IL. The process of getting the old out and the new in has begun. I hope to have the motor and trans out this week. The new motor is currently on the stand, torn down to the short block (LS1). Plans for new cam bearings, and new cam are set. Looking forward to the months ahead. Plan is to have it on the road in spring. The new trans is already on hand so the major components are all here. Plan is to run it next summer NA then decide which forced induction option I am going to pick. (Turbo or Blower).

Progress pics as available.

You are kinda new here so maybe you do not know the Rule that you are not permitted to mention the w word until December 15 of each year. Failing to comply with the Rule for that word can result in public flogging......

If you are removing the engine and tansmission I find it easier to remove both and take them apart when out of the car....it looks like you have a nice big shop to do the work...:)

LOL. I am actually doing it in my garage. I prefer splitting the two, but i get it is individual preference.

WINTER PROJECT TIME!

Been there, done that.

For me, it's winter car cruise time right through May, then it's SUMMER PROJECT TIME.

NO, that was the other day I pointed out about LED headlights: Why pay more?

And you made up some lame excuse why you paid threw the nose.

Wanna hear what paying through the nose is?....when the HID's first came out I paid close to $500 for the 2 kits. When I got the Hella conversion lenses the only alternative was the cheap chinese junk ones so paying $160 for the 4 lenses was my only option if I wanted good lights on my GP. The other thing is up here to buy anything you have to pay through the nose....

I only have indoor and outdoor projects. The weather dictates which get done and right now it's raining cats and dogs.

I just came in after a bit more clean-up and organization in the garage. It is going to be a hell of a push getting a running/driving turbo-LS in the Monte for Spring.

Winter is just forced fun.
