Would you pay $1000 to test drive this car?

I agree, that is nuts, paying $1,000 for a joy ride is usually for cars that are way more fun to drive than a G-body.

I think everyone should flag his POS post until it gets removed.

He's insane.

That said, I do NOT think his ad should be flagged.

I think it should be left up there. I think he should enjoy the sound of crickets chirping with the lack of responses.

Back in the 1990s, some guy with a white, late 80s Monte Carlo SS local to me had that attitude. It was a low-mileage car, and it looked pristine. I believe at the time he wanted something like $15,000 as well - odd coincidence.

Had the car running, and he seemed to slightly object, and I blipped the throttle once or twice - sounds, smells, etc., can tell you things. Keep in mind, I opened the throttle maybe 1/3 of the way and let go... did NOT hold it there. My friend said the owner's wife started freaking out.

No test drives. Not without a deposit. I didn't ask, but I'm assuming he meant non-refundable. I immediately wondered what he was hiding, and lost interest just as quickly.

Ah well. The best I could tell from having it running and in Park was that it SEEMED good. But when you come off like you're trying to pull some kind of scam, or are hiding some kind of issue, it's just an immediate red flag.

I agree that there is no reason to flag his add.
I'm guessing his car is fast (or at least he thinks so) and if he listed the car as say a true 9 or 10 second street car and says he has times slips to prove it and has build receipts and a dyno sheet to show X amount of horsepower then I could maybe see asking for a money for a test drive (but not $1000 non refundable) and if this was the case then he would be asking a lot more money for it.
So since he doesn't give any info like that then I'll go with he is probably just crazy.

The guy might be an idiot, but he also might be using that to scare off broke asses and wannabee's. If any of you have every sold a G-body or anything like it you know every idiot from every part of town calls and comes to your house and well, acts like an idiot then doesn't pay you.

Crack is a hell of a drug

Instead of flagging his craigslist post. We should just send him a link to this forum post...#toolBag
