SC taxpayers that paid income taxes last year among other restrictions, are entitled to a $50 rebate check.

I thought it was bunk until we got a department of revenue check today for $50. Joint filers only get one check though, but hey, free money is free money.

A lottery winner didn't claim his money within the 6 month period of the Mega Millions to claim and boom! Lost it to the state. They took $61 million of it and made some taxpayers a little happier by $50.

If you live in SC and filed 2018 taxes, you can check and see if you got your $50 rebate coming. You'll need your SSN and include $50 for the amount of your rebate check.

Even if it doesn't you'll probably have to claim it on this year's taxes so the state gets it back anyway.

You always have to claim it on the next year's taxes, but we're in a lower tax bracket now so we get to keep 6 more cents.
