Water leak help!!!!

I have a 1980 Malibu wagon with a water leak driving me crazy. I replaced the upper ac/heater box because it was cracked thinking that
was it. I replaced the door rubber weathstrip since that was missing parts and rotted. Rained hard to today and leaking down again by r/s floor kick panel area. I have new carpet to install but want to fix. Could it be leaking by luggage rack and sending water thru interior moulding down to kick panel area. Thhe head liner isnt wet but there is water in trim piece in center of door opening the goes to a pillar trim. this is driving me crazy. Can anyone please help???

Wish I could help. I have the same leak(plus a few others). hopefully Someone knows what's going on.

Have you tried to clean out the a/c box drain. It might be clogged

When you changed the ac box, did you add some type of gasket. I ask cause I had the same leak for the longest time. I didn't replace the ac box but added the ac delete plate with light gasket maker and the leak is now gone. It would come down t passenger side and puddle up behind the seat.

WOULD AC DRAIN CAUSE THIS EVEN IF DONT USE AC?
IT HAPPENS WHEN IT RAINS OR IF YOU PUT A HOSE ON IT.

Yes water still drains through the cowl screen wether it is rain or A/C

There's a good chance that it could be leaking past your A/C box. I would check the drain first as dr78442 had suggested.
They do tend to clog up with debris. In that case, remove the screen and use a piece of coat hanger or welding rod along with a garden hose. You'll see the water gush down from below the box.

These cars can leak in a number of places. Body seams, rust in the windshield frame, bad windshield seal, etc. Also check the servo controlled fresh air flap on the inside of the A/C box. I found that mine leaked past the deteriorated seal that goes around the flap portion.

TRIED TO POST PIICS AND COULDN'T. ITS A 80 MALIBU WAGON WITH A VINYL WRAP I DESIGNED ON IT. I WANT TO FINISH WITH NEW CARPET BUT GOT TO FIND THIS LEAK
