Looking for a little help here. Converting back to carburetor from an EFI setup and I have an intank fuel pump and would rather not go to a mechanical, so I'm using an Automotive bypass regulator to drop the pressure down to 6 psi.
Still waiting on a couple parts to hook up my gauge to come...
1987 Monte Carlo LS, 60/40 front bench. Both seats lean too far back and I am wondering if this is supposed to be some sort of adjustment? Doesn't seem to do anything.
I discovered I need to run a new fuel line for my return (Sniper EFI) due to damage on my 5/16 line, So I'm going to use 3/8" line like my feed. It converts to 5/16 hose for the last 18-24" as it goes to the pump/bucket as I don't really feel like dropping the tank again. Will this have the...
What gears are in your car? I have 3.70 gears and I don't go into 4th until around 45mph on my 2004r.
Can you feel the shifts? Could be a TV cable adjustment issue.
I'm ok with paying $5 to post a car for sale ad.
I just hope they put some of that money into the site...like a decent search engine for outside your area.
I use the shields with my Cragar 15" wheels and they fit just fine. I would definitely run shields, they're worth the price.
I am also using brake hoses off a 2000 Blazer RWD, which required relocating the mounting tab the holds the hose/line. They parts computer at Oreilly's showed two...
Thanks for the tip, I adjusted the rear drums until I can hear just a little friction while spinning them. Both needed adjustment, one side quite a bit. The pedal now feels much better. I had replaced the brake drum (not pads or anything else) but never knew about the adjustment wheel.
The...
Can you elaborate a little? I've not had to mess with drum brakes before. This is a Ford rear end and brakes, if that makes a difference.
Thanks for the response.
edit - Youtube for the win. I'll check it out in the morning.
Getting my 87 on the road for the first time in 2.5 years and I drove it for the 2nd time tonight. The first press of the brake pedal is pretty soft, then the second one is much firmer. Does this sound like air in the lines?
During the "restoration" I replaced the calipers, brake hoses and...
I've been trying to find some pics, bonus if it's an LS model. Looking at some 15x7 and 15x8s to replace my Cragar wheels that are getting rough.
No luck on Google Images.
Replaced the springs with Moog 5660 units. Much easier to install than the 5602 due to a shorter free standing height, still a bit of a pain though.
It's about an inch lower up front. I'll probably end up doing tall lowers this winter but I'm done with the suspension for now.
I agree. they're really hard to find in good shape and when they are in good shape people rightfully so want a premium for them.
Anyone that thinks that's worth less than $6,000 is kidding themselves
Yes, they're Belltech drop spindles for a 2000 Blazer rwd. Checked the receipt just now. Belltechs logo is also cast into them and Belltech only makes drop spindles, not standard spindles.
Any idea how much Moog 5660 springs will lower the front? Vs new 5602s. I've seen the charts but...
That's a 235/60/15 tire.
To all - I knew the ride height was a complete crapshoot with how much I was replacing, but the car went up significantly, probably 2" based on old pics
It's a iron headed SBC with no AC, headers and no smog stuff. I didn't think it would be low, but that's a lot if...
All the control arm bolts are loose. When I put it on the ground I rolled it back 20' and forward to its original spot and rocked the car to make sure something wasn't binding.
