Yes and no. Most of the outside frame is clean enough where a quick wire wheel is all it needs. I will have someone spray in the holes and get what they can on the inside.
We have already fixed all the mounting holes and now its on to boxing the frame :D
All the way out
Where did all the space go!
and of course the typical gbody rust/rot
5 mounts needed work the rest were in good shape. Driver side #6 and #2, passenger side #7, #6 & #2
Sliding out the frame
Almost out
Big thanks to my buddy in the picture who has been putting in 10+ hour days with me and is my go to for any questions and advice
and so it begins!
The car has been limped around for the past two years, moving from storage place to storage place waiting for me to have the space to begin work.
Well, Merry Christmas! At the beginning of the month we moved into a new house with a 2 car + garage and I now have my shop space...
Just take your time and do your research.
I have been using a combination of a Painless kit + wiring myself for my new gauges and switches, everything goes smoothly until you rush yourself, then it's back 3 steps.
Are you rewiring the whole engine bay or just the engine components (lights/horn...
Hey guys. I am in the process of wiring up my wiper switch/motor. I found the original plugs for the motor but I can't find the one for the back of the wiper switch. Does anyone have a picture of the wiper switch plug? Also, if I can't find the plug I will wire it up with spade connectors. Any...
KBS painted on the floor pan. I really wish I would have used a good camera and got a pic right when we painted it on and a few days later after it was all cured. The self-leveling capability of this stuff is crazy. I don't think you could see a single brush mark after.
Dynamat in.
And the...
KBS Rust treatment. My floor pan had some surface rust on it (no holes) so I went at it with a wire wheel then the rust treatment as folllows.
Scrub with the cleaner and keep wet for 10 min, rinse, spray on etch and keep wet for ten min, rinse, brush on sealer and let it cure.
Getting ready to...
Old dash out
Painted with gauges in. Still need to get a tach and paint the glove box
Old housing cut to fit the gauges in. Still thinking of a better cleaner way to mount them but that will come later.

Sorry for not keeping up with the post but things have been moving along.
Autometer Gauges
The dash arrives.
All unpacked. Thanks to cbarge1969 for hooking up the dash.
Dash painted black
Wiring up the gauges
I bought a dash from cbarge1969.
The dash arrived in better condition than I expected.
All parts were included, everything was wrapped up so no damage could happen during shipping.
I would recommend this seller to anyone.
Re: My 81' Project
Started a little body work. I am shaving everything on the car so I neede to fill in the trim spot in the center.
I worked at MAaco about 4-5 years ago for maybe 6 months (terrible management). I had never done more than sand and paint before then and I watched a few of the...
