    Best 200R4 Shift Kits

Whoever rebuilds your Trans will have one that they prefer you to use to match the rebuild level you choose. Www.extremeautomatics.com Lonnie Diere did two for me and I had good success with both.

205/70-14 fronts, 225/70-14 rears on 84 Monte Carlo, OK?

Assuming your lug patternis Is the same they will fit. For future reference 245/60/14 on the rear also works & compliments the 205/70 up front in that they are 25.4 & 25.6 tall. Gives it a more serious performance car look.

    TH350C Transmission and a Mild 455

http://www.extremeautomatics.com If you put a 200-4R behind a high performance big block have a shop build it that specializes in hi po 200-4Rs. Plenty of good transmission shops let alone first timers fail at building up a 200-4R to withstand 500+ pounds of torque. The good news is having a...

Steps for a big power olds motor

As you try to go quicker eventually everything starts to come into play. Things get more involved and take more time and MORE money for smaller and harder fought gains. Oh yea and its not just for gains its for fixing and replaceing what you are going to break getting there and making it...

15" rally's vs. 18" rim of your choice

To fit 275s a lot of people "roll" the inner fender well lip in for a little clearance. Also many run an air bag/s in the rear coil with a few pounds for a slight lift / rake and a little clearance. Side note if you have a limited slip rear often 10 to 15 psi in the passenger side air bag...

    83MONTESS 496/8.5 build

Another option as they are reasonably priced is new Moog springs available at most auto parts stores. http://jeffd.50megs.com/Moog_Spring_Page.htm Godlemmy, I built a 509 Caddy and put it in an 88 Olds Cutty then an 87 442. There is some good info on this site about guys who have done it...

    top speed calculator, accurate?

Even if you have the power a lot of the gbodys tend to start to push & float at around 140 to 145 depending on road rises & dips, wind, tires, suspension, stance etc. Both my GN & 442 would even with factory spoilers, good tires, poly bushings etc. Although the MCSS Aero coupe and Grand Prix...

87 LS MONTE 4.3 ENGINE TROUBLE, HELP

As voltage drops due to age deterioration of factory weak wiring & connections.. pump output drops. This is a common problem with these and more notably the turbo Buicks which have the same basic setup. Often a problem solver for your description and regardless a great upgrade is to direct...

    Tire size recommendation

235/60/15s or 215/65/15s or 215/70/15 up front with the 255/60/15s in the back. I've always run the 235s on 7" rims up front with my 15x8s in the rear. 235/60/15s are getting hard to find. The 70s would be almost as tall as the 255/60. The 205/70 is getting very small and narrow for the rim.

    My 86 442: update 11/11/14 Auto Gear M22Z

Re: My 86 442: update 11/2/2013 Nice job on the hood.. Er actually whole car. You may remember I used the same scoop & also cut a hole in my hood like yours. Just for some ideas if you are interested. I put a 1" spacer between my intake & carb both for a little power and so the top of my...

    Rear ends

All the turbo regales came with the 8.5 rear. Most likely & economical find would be an 81 to 88 7.5/7.625 which would be fine behind a moderate 350. Since you only have a three speed transmission and it is also a driver your ideal gears would be a 3.08 or 3.23. A 3.42 will also work...

    EFI fuel system questions

3/8 & 3/8th Return style. I used Mallory 4309 What you doing is far better than an inline fuel pump setup. Quiet, always cold fuel from tank, factory reliable, stealth. Racetronix used to have a diagram.. Maybe text them. Also www.gnttype.org I believe has/had one.

1984 Cutlass Calais / BBO 455 build thread *UPDATED*

I'm a big block fan for a fast daily drive able car but with zero fabrication skills the sb is a better choice for your first swap. Powers car is an excellent example though 12.3 @ 110 & 15.5 mpg still tuning and jump on the interstate & take her out of state ready with power brakes steering AC...
