As you suggested, the husband may have passed on. It's sad to think that this guy wanted to do the right thing but fell ill and the parts were scattered about. The body could've ended up in a body shop somewhere. What a terrible fate.

It does make you wonder what became of the whole car. The parts look pretty clean. The headers don't look like they've ever been run. The Hurst shifter is a cool piece. I can't say I've ever seen one before. All in all, I think you did well.

I was also thinking a 700R-4 trans with the long tail shaft. Looks like some good parts there. Nicely prepped frame, too.

Good luck! We're all keeping a good thought for you. Hopefully they took extra precautions to keep the dash safe from damage during shipment. Perhaps encased the entire structure in Styrofoam before crating it.

I really liked the Holden Ute. Nice body style and was LS powered. They were quite pricy in the states due to conformity to our safety standards.
