Old school fix for loose main and rod bearings.

I can only be very optimistic that I would be lucky enough the mains not be scored as well. That would rain on my parade.

    Holley VS. Edelbrock debacle

The Rochesters, which the Eddy is a copy of, would ,over the years, develop leakage through the lead plugs at the bottom of the bowls. I have sometime lightly peened them over to tighten them up. Others have gone so far as to drill them out, tap threads in the holes, and screw in plugs in the...

    Junk yard non gbody gem

While it qualifies as a Halloween parade car, it's front end treatment is not too far removed from adventures in Nipponese styling ,which has morphed over the years , from 'cute', to bland, and now, aggressive . Check out the new Toyota Corolla's front end styling, as an example.

The key will stay out of the ignition until repairs are made.

Doesn’t start unless I prime with gas/starting fluid

I have never heard of a clear p.c.v. hose that can hold up under ethanol.

I have another car to drive, thankfully, in the mean time I did throw a hail mary pass into it with the ,new to me, 5-50 wt . synthetic oil, which did not help. I...

    1978 Malibu Barn Find

That red interior is gorgeous. I lived in Detroit for several years and drove what they affectionally call 'whoopty rides' up there. The first thing I had to do on my new whoopty was unload the trash and vacuum it out, and I mean the smells were bad from...whatever. So before doing any thing...

    Small engine head scratcher

My Briggs @Stratton carburetors do not have needles or seats, but the diaphrams in them are not holding up like they used to. Maybe the company has upgraded them, the parts place always give me new 'old 'stock ones !

Thanks , I am just - hoping- they are not.

    Small engine head scratcher

It's gotten to where the first thing I suspect is, like, last year, and the year before, and the year...time to replace the carb diaphram ! I need to find out if there are more ethanol resistant ones available.
