    Here's a rare piece...

From the late 70’s through the mid 80’s dealers ordered a ton of cars with radio prep package, then the dealer would install the aftermarket, factory look alike, stereo. The dealers ended up with a ton of delete plates, but honestly most were just thrown away, no market.

    Bolt on hood scoop question

My ’72 Demon 340 came with that scoop from the factory. Sorry about the quality, but they were taken with a Polaroid in 1975.

What engine is this in this Craigslist Monte?

    Definitely two different cars.

Is anyone else shocked/not shocked or confused about the current G body market and prices

I paid $3000 for my LS V8 with stock wheels and 102 on the clock. Super clean in and out, garage kept old lady car.

    Whats the one thing...........

The light weight compared to the room and size, the fact that any GM V8 is pretty much a bolt in, handling is excellent for very little expense. A handful have some value, but they were mass produced family cars, by and large, so with exception of GNX, GN, H.O., 442, SS and the ‘80 Grand Am...

Not New, but been away 7 years.

I’ve done the exhaust and since this pic I’ve installed 1.5” springs all around, and fat sway bars. I have a ZZ4 crate motor waiting to go in, but my motivation has been a bit low. My wife died suddenly about a year and a half ago, and I’m just getting my balance back. I’ll get to it all.

Not New, but been away 7 years.

I sold my ‘85 442 when we built this house and I finally found another nice G-Body. This ‘86 LS was a grandma car, bought it from the estate.

    How much does it weigh?

The LeMans and Grand Am were lighter than Monte Carlo and barely heavier than Malibu depending on drivetrains.

    How much does it weigh?

The '79 Trans Am with 301 weighed 3490 lbs, the 400 and 403 cars ranged from 3530-3640 lbs. So saying a G-body is light or heavy should be based on how they compare to other cars of the day, and they were among the lightest of rear drive cars.

Proper 3 piece Hurst OLDS wings and Hood Scoops

I would also be interested in a scoop.

    putting a LT1 into a 83 regal limited

You'll need Chevy frame mounts and you will have to notch the or heat and dimple the cross member to clear the a/c compressor. Other than that pretty simple swap.

    1980 pontiac wheel - 15"'s?

Rally 4's were standard on 1980 Grand Am and Grand Prix SJ. When I ordered my 80 Grand Am I also ordered a set of 15 x 7 Western Bullits with 245/60 BFG's . I never wanted those ugly assed things to see the light of day on my car.

    Why is Grand Prix lacking

In case it hasn't been said already, there was one performance model Grand Prix G-body. It was the 1980 Grand Prix SJ, it had the 170 h.p. 301 H.O. a 2.93 rear gear, firmer and higher shift points, the same suspension as the 1980 Grand Am. It was an inch lower in front and 1.5" lower in the rear...

Dads new car 1966 442 Conv

Cool! Looks like the real deal. I wasn't being an *ss about the actual mileage, just that it's an easy claim on a car that old without wall to wall docs. When I say add on junk, I didn't mean actual junk, it's a term I use in place of stuff sometimes. Meanings get lost in print . Looks like a...

Dads new car 1966 442 Conv

442 was an option on the Cutlass V8 in '66, a 442 convertible second through fifth digits should be 3867. If so it's a real 442, I'd be highly suspect of the 18k miles though, mainly from all the add on junk like the air cleaner. No offense.
