    Two questions....

Dixie Restoration might have those, if not something comparable; I think I have seen chromed ones on there. On the steering column, yes, it was probably painted and the only way to correct that I can think of is to mask, prep and paint.

    Drive shaft help

Not sure where you are located, but, Brookline Machine Company in East Providence, RI is fantastic. They did work for me years ago repairing a drive shaft for an old dodge I owned. Great work and very reasonable pricing.

What battery maintainer is everyone using?

I'm gonna do it...I'm gonna be honest knowing full well that my, albeit, honest response might open me up to ridicule and shame...that said here goes. I have been using the Harbor Freight Special. There; I said it. Not the expensive one either, the $10.00 job. While it lacks the frills that...

    Tips For Gluing Weatherstripping

Nice! There is a balance here, I tackled the weather stripping project a few years ago and it came out great. The only issue has been lately, the passenger side door, the fat piece that runs vertically that the window grabs, has been separating from the car. I do not think I used enough of the...

OLDS Who's ceramic coated SS headers?

I took my headers off about 5 years ago and used a friends media blaster to clean them up. Then I primed and painted them with very lights coats of VHT paint. I baked them in a large old grill that I had no use for but still worked, on a low setting. The paint has held up great and only recently...

yo whats good, im new to the forum check out my all original 1986 cutlass supreme im thinking about upgrading my suspension my IG @trapboss.gbody

As far as suspension parts go, I can't say enough about UMI. As far as what to install, it depends on what you're trying to do with the car; cruise around town or take it to the track.

    9/11....

I know exactly what you mean; I do something similar each year, to varying extent. Each year, around the anniversary I watch the coverage again. I watch the footage of the planes hitting. I listen to Kevin Cosgrove's call from the South Tower, where moments before you hear him scream as the...

    9/11....

Two years ago I had the pleasure of meeting a number of firefighters, including Joe Morabito, that survived the attack on the WTC on 09/11/2001. They were present at and part of a ceremony commemorating the 20th anniversary of the attack along with a display of the 9/11 moving memorial at the...

    Hood Hinge Question

I have a fiberglass hood, any advice on what "strength" struts to order up?

    Hood Hinge Question

Ugh - I'm jealous. This is a project I need to tackle. Currently I have a custom hood prop that holds my hood up when I need to keep it open. By custom, I mean a wooden dowel that I painted chevy orange and has two tennis balls on the end so as not to mar the hood or the metal on the car.

    Hard mounted hangers

No pictures available, but I have hard hangers and no issues. The shop that did the job made the hangers, tips exit behind the rear tire, as opposed to out the back.

    BUILD THREAD UMI's 1978 Cutlass

I second that emotion, I can't say enough about these guys. I put my stage II kit in my monte carlo over a decade ago. All of it is still in the car, and I remember the installation if only because the directions were easy to follow and everything bolted up according to the instructions. I am...

HA! Thanks for the reply. We do that one all the time. Typically I'll smoke a pork butt and use the meat from that for a "porkie-pie". I add mushrooms, use sweet baby rays as a base, instead of tomato sauce, and double cheddar cheese. Also do a prosciutto, sliced pear and feta pizza that people...

Thank you! I smoke them with the dry rub only, let them bark up nice, then the last hour or so I'll brush on a heavy coat of sweet baby rays. that has worked for me.
